Rain Didn't Stop Fundraising at CHSW Golf Day

An annual Charity Golf Day at Carlyon Bay Golf Club has taken place for the sixth year and raised over £14,000 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Despite the wet weather 32 teams of golfers played on 11 th May and remained in high spirits to help raise funds for local children’s charity CHSW which runs Little Harbour children’s hospice at Porthpean.

An extensive selection of prizes were up for grabs during the raffle and auction which followed after the golf. Prizes included a range of signed sporting merchandise as well as dining out vouchers, experience days, rounds of golf at courses

1500 Run the Bristol Rainbow!

For the first time, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) brought its ever-popular sponsored run – the Rainbow Run – to Bristol’s beautiful Blaise Castle Estate. 1500 people took part in the 5k fun run, which is expected to raise over £75,000 for the charity.

Events Fundraiser, Hollie Thorogood, said ‘Blaise Castle Estate was a brilliant new venue and it was fantastic to see the event is still going strong in its sixth year; we hope to see everyone at the 7th! We hope the event raises in the excess of £75,000, which could pay for 24-hour nurse care for one year at one of our 3 hospices.’

Locks to be cut for Little Harbour and Little Princess Trust

8 year old Lilly-Mae Hurse from Carclaze School has decided that she will be cutting her locks off to help other children.

Lilly-Mae has been growing her hair for years and always wanted to donate it to the Little Princess Trust, after speaking with her mum Sam who is a Team Leader on the care team at Little Harbour children’s hospice she became interested in how she could help the children that use the hospice too.

Emma Smale is supporting the #keepitlocal campaign for the local charities supported by this year’s Great West Run as she regularly runs in support of Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) in memory of her eldest daughter, Imogen who was supported by the charity before her death in 2016.

Team CHSW success at the Great Bristol 10k

Team CHSW were out in force at this year’s Great Bristol 10k.

A 60-strong team of runners took on the run at the weekend in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Runners were given a boost by hearing Sam FM’s Downsy encourage participants as he took to the mic at the charity’s cheer point, located outside The Shakespeare Tavern on Prince Street. This was Downsy’s first appearance in his role as Partnership Ambassador for CHSW.

Amongst those running were six members of Avon & Somerset Constabulary who were wearing full riot gear, including shields; and 28 friends and family running

A Summer Serenade in Bristol

The Clifton College Summer Serenade takes place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27 th June in the College’s stunning Chapel. Featuring talented young musicians from the College accompanied by The Bristol Ensemble, it is guaranteed to be an auditory delight!

The Bristol Ensemble is the city’s only professional orchestra, comprising a core of 25 musicians with a further 50 musicians all of whom are experienced players in a range of musical genres. The Ensemble has flexible configurations, from a piano trio through to a full symphony orchestra.

Ocean Studios at Royal William Yard in Plymouth was the venue for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) networking event on Thursday 10th May.

The event was set up to give local business people the opportunity to network with each other while also finding out about the work the local children’s charity does in supporting children with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Businesses Back Newquay Rainbow Run

Four more businesses have shown their support for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by each sponsoring a paint station at the charity’s upcoming Rainbow Run in Newquay.

The main event sponsor for Rainbow Run is Anns Cottage however Biffa Cornwall, Happy Days Nurseries, Cornwall Training and Consultancy and Steve Andrews Tyres & Autocare have each donated towards the sponsorship of the paint stations at the colourful event.

Sam FM Bristol, part of Celador Radio, has announced it is to support local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) for the foreseeable future. CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice, which supports children diagnosed with life limiting conditions and their families, is located just six miles from the radio station’s hub in Bristol.
