Footballers turn to golf to raise charity funds

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was delighted to receive a cheque for £685 from Clevedon United Junior FC’s recent fundraising event.


The football club held its first ever golf day last month at Mendip Spring Golf Club. Two teams of twelve, representing parents and coaches, battled it out for a claret jug trophy, kindly donated by Brunel Engraving Company.


In glorious conditions, the coaches team came out on top to be the inaugural champions.

Enjoy a cream tea in aid of your local children’s hospice

People across the peninsula are being invited to tuck into a cream tea and raise a few pounds for their local children’s hospice.

The Big South West Cream Tea takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend and organiser Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is asking supporters to join in by holding their own cream tea fundraiser with friends and family.

A song has been released on iTunes by Bradley Stoke resident, Rob Berry, with all proceeds to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).


Rob, along with pianist and vocalist, Amy Parker, has recorded a cover of Alter Bridge’s Wonderful Life – a poignant song about loss and a celebration of life lived.

Luxury local hampers supporting children's hospices

Devon Hampers, winner of Best Luxury Hampers Award in 2019, has chosen to support a local children’s charity during a special anniversary year.


Lifton based Devon Hampers is partnering with Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and will be donating 5% from the sale of its hampers, when purchased using a specific code, to the charity which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Members of the royal family have shared personal messages of support for children’s hospice charities to mark the start of Children’s Hospice Week this week (21-27 June).

Their Royal Highnesses, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall, have both acknowledged the vital work of children’s hospices, including Children’s Hospice South West’s Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.
