Happy Days Nurseries & Pre Schools have been key supporters of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), and its Little Harbour hospice since 2017.

Happy Days has been running for 30 years and now has 35 nurseries across the South West and Wales.

Both Happy Days and CHSW have very similar aims, with the care of children being at the heart of what they do.

Happy Days has become extremely connected, and dedicated, to CHSW over the last 8 years. The nurseries have even had children in their care who have benefitted from the services of Little Harbour, making the charity very close to their hearts

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is holding its annual Moonlight Memory Walk at The Lost Gardens of Heligan on 8 November and is currently offering a 30% discount on tickets.

The event is taking place at the well-known Cornish gardens on Saturday 8 November, and tickets currently cost £10.50.

This discount is available until midday on Thursday 4 September. As well as the walk itself, included in the ticket price is a t-shirt, medal, goody bag, pasty and entry into Heligan on the evening.

This special, uplifting evening will give people the opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives

The last ever ingot of tin to be smelted in Cornwall went to auction last week and has raised £14,144 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The auction was held at Lay’s Auctioneers in Penzance on 7 August. The ingot, lot 129, was the very last ingot of tin to be smelted in Cornwall at Wheal Jane, following the closure of South Crofty mine in 1998.

The ingot reached £6,400 through an exciting flurry of bidding from those both in the room and from many around the country and world following online. The Wheal Jane Group then generously match funded the amount taking the total raised to £12

A Cornish garden, well known locally as a favourite location for ‘pick-your-own’, is opening on Sunday 17 August in aid of Children’s Hospice West (CHSW).

Mitchell Fruit Garden in Newquay, just off the A30, will be open for visitors to enjoy from 11am-3pm for just £5 entry. All proceeds will go to CHSW’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in nearby St Austell.

The garden, nestled in the heart of Cornwall, is run by Kim Parish, an award-winning garden designer who hopes to establish Mitchel Fruit Garden as a cultural hub following the creation of a sub-tropical garden and sunflower field.

A small number of children, their families and staff were delighted when Her Majesty The Queen paid a visit to Little Bridge House children’s hospice on Wednesday 16 July to mark the 30th anniversary of the opening of the children’s hospice based in North Devon. This was the first visit since the death of Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Co-Founder earlier this year, Eddie Farwell.

Little Harbour children’s hospice hosted a networking event with a difference for members of their Business Club.

On Monday 7 July, 35 Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Business Club members and guests came to the hospice in St Austell for an afternoon of pitch and putt alongside networking.

112 keen cyclists from across the South West unleashed their pedal power at the weekend by completing a 205-mile cycling challenge, raising more than £320,000 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The annual Ride for Precious Lives saw cyclists ride through 3 counties in just 3 days in the event which is now in its 16th year and sponsored by Edwards Vacuum.

The route started out from the charity’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell on Friday 11 July, stopped off at CHSW’s Little Bridge House hospice in Barnstaple on Saturday, and finished at Charlton Farm children’s hospice

Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell is offering community talks about the sensory experiences provided at the hospice.

These sessions are being offered to groups, schools and businesses to raise awareness about the work Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) does for local families whose child has a life-limiting condition.

For the babies, children and young people CHSW cares for, sensory experiences are so important to help them interact with the people and environment around them.

A local care centre in Plymouth has raised over £600 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Greenacres Care Centre in Mannamead, Plymouth, held a Cream Tea on Friday 30 May to raise funds for the charity after residents voted to support them for the 2nd year running.

Residents, families, friends and staff enjoyed home baked scones, singing and entertainment on a lovely, sunny afternoon.

The event was a huge success, and the owners of the Care Centre match funded the amount raised meaning even more money could be donated to CHSW to help its vital work.

1,500 people took part in Cornwall’s brightest fun run on Saturday as RAF St Mawgan once again hosted the Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Rainbow Run, sponsored by Kernow Coatings.

The event returned to Newquay for its 11th year, and has already seen an incredible £100,000 raised, which will help provide care to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions supported by CHSW’s Little Harbour hospice in St Austell.
