Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is appealing for runners to take part in the Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday 17 May 2026 in support of its 3 children’s hospices in the region.

CHSW has just 25 charity spaces remaining. Keen runners and those seeking a new challenge in 2026 can purchase a charity place ticket for £10 which includes a free running vest.

All participants are asked to commit to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship. Once £50 is raised, a place will be confirmed with Run Plymouth.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was delighted to receive over £9200 from the annual Martin Jennings Memorial Motorcycle Run.

2025 was the 38th year of the event and despite 2 postponements due to weather the event still saw more than 1,500 bikers take part.

A cheque for £9,243.31 was presented to Amanda Masters from CHSW in Beacon, where Martin was born, by members of the Martin Jennings Marshals Association.

The 2025 total is the 2nd highest amount raised since the event began in 1988, bringing the overall total raised for local and national charities to around £200,000.

Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) charity shop in Truro is calling on the local community to help stock its shelves by donating their good-quality, pre-loved items.

This is the opportunity to tick off some resolutions by having a new year clear-out and help a local charity.

The shop is also looking for volunteers who can spare a few hours each week to lend a helping hand at its shop in Victoria Square.

Michael Spiers, the South West’s leading independent jewellery and watch retailer, has generously donated £2,500 to Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) hospice, Little Harbour.

Little Harbour provides vital care and support to babies, children, young people and their families in Cornwall and Plymouth, and currently support 110 families.

This donation was dedicated to making Christmas celebrations extra special for families at the hospice. The funds were used to create a magical outdoor light display, which brought joy and festive cheer to families during visits on Friday 19 and Saturday

Little Harbour recently welcomed a heart-warming gesture from Brakes, a leading food distributor, whose generosity will make this Christmas extra special for babies, children, young people and families supported by the hospice.

Following a visit from team member Daley to Little Harbour in October, Brakes were keen to support the children’s hospice however they could. The depot had voted to support a local charity at Christmas with a food donation, and they chose Little Harbour. Daley had a tour of the hospice from the Care Team.

£40,000 was raised for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) on Sunday 7 December as the charity returned for its 10th year to the Eden Project for Santas on the Run!

£16,000 and counting was raised for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) on Saturday 29 November as the charity brought its well-loved event, Santas on the Run, to Plym Valley Railway for the first time.

This event saw 280 supporters of all ages kick off the festive season dressed in a range of Christmas costumes.
