The Exeter announced as headline sponsor of Exeter Rainbow Run

Children’s Hospice South West is delighted to announce that local insurance company, The Exeter, will be joining forces with the charity at its colour-tastic Exeter Rainbow Run.

The healthcare and protection insurance specialist will be the headline sponsor at the charity’s flagship summer fundraising event at Westpoint Exeter on June 22.

Anyone aged five and above can take part in the fun, billed ‘the happiest, most colourful 5k around’. Participants run, jog or walk through colourful bursts of powder paint at special colour stations set up around the course.

New event is the perfect toe-dipper for open water swimmers

Even more swimmers are being invited to take on the thrill of an open water swim event in aid of Children’s Hospice South West this summer.

The charity has partnered with Dartmoor Open Water Swim to offer two shorter distance swims, alongside the 8,000m, 4,000m and 2,000m courses at Roadford Lake, near Okehampton, on Sunday, June 16.

For the first time, competent swimmers aged 12-16 can register to take part in a 500m child-only swim or a 500m family swim. There is also a 1,000m course for young swimmers and adults aged 14 and over.

Fugro Sponsor 10th Moonlight Memory Walk

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is excited to announce that it has the support of Fugro as a sponsor for its Moonlight Memory Walk which is returning to Falmouth on 30 th March.

The Moonlight Memory Walk is a 5 mile sponsored walk which has been held annually for the past nine years to raise vital funds for CHSW which runs Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell. Historically a ladies-only event this year’s special 10 th anniversary walk will be welcoming men to join for the first time. Business People Face a Day Behind Bars for Charity

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) will be arresting, charging and putting on trial some well-known business people from the local area who, if found guilty of their entirely fictitious crimes, will have to raise a bail of £999 each to be set free.

Jail and Bail has become an annual fundraising event held by CHSW to raise vital funds for its Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell which supports children and families from Plymouth and Cornwall.

First Sports Lunch in Bath is a huge success!

Olympic gold-medallist Amy Williams MBE came to the aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) on Friday (8 th Feb) when she stepped up to host a Q&A with a panel of sporting guests at its first Sports Lunch in the city. Rugby legend David Flatman was due to host the event at the Apex Hotel but had to fly to Rome earlier than anticipated to cover the 6 Nations.

10 Years of Moonlight Memory Walk

Children’s charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) recently announced plans for its 10 th anniversary Moonlight Memory Walk which is happening in Falmouth on the evening of Saturday 30 th March and last weekend the charity launched the promotion of the event with a cream tea.

Around 80 people turned out on Sunday at the charity’s Cream Tea launch of the Moonlight Memory Walk at the Falmouth Hotel and spent time looking back at photos and memorabilia from the last 10 years and also signing up to this year’s walk.

Brave Kirsty takes on skydive for CHSW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is looking for brave individuals to join them for a thrilling skydive experience on Saturday 23 rd March at Dunkswell Airfield in Honiton.

Sea Breeze Skydivers Raise over £5000

Eight colleagues from the Sea Breeze shop at Pentewan Sands campsite took part in a charity skydive and have raised £5063.55 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) while doing so.

The intrepid fundraisers took to the sky from Perranporth airfield with Cornwall Parachute Club on 25 th November and all completed the jump, with some now looking to repeat it in the future and others glad it is complete.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is calling out for people to take part in its Santas on the Run event which is coming to Eden on Sunday 9 th December and is being sponsored by Ocean Group.

The event is a 2km festive fun run around Eden for all the family to take part in, there are no age restrictions and no fitness requirements it is just simply an opportunity to dress as Santa and celebrate the start of the festive season with friends, family or colleagues.

At the heart of the event though is a very important aim – to raise as much money as possible for Little Harbour children’s hospice

Magical Christmas concert at historic Woolhanger Manor

Exmoor’s centuries old Woolhanger Manor, near Parracombe, will be the stunning setting for a magical Christmas concert in aid of Children’s Hospice South West next month.

The ‘A Very Merry Christmas Concert’ on Friday, December 14 will take place in Woolhanger’s beautifully restored Grade II listed music room, with festive performances by the Exmoor Carolers and North Devon singer-songwriter, Yazzy, who supported Paloma Faith at the Glastonbury Extravaganza this summer. There will also be carols sung by children from Brayford Academy and by the staff choir at Little Bridge House.
