Kelly House's gardens near Launceston will be open to the public every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday until 27th June and will be taking the opportunity to educate its visitors about the poisonous plants and flowers that may be found in a country garden.


No pre-booking is required and entry costs £5 for adults, which includes a free takeaway cup of tea or coffee, and children can visit for free. Gates will be open 10.30am – 4.30pm, pre-ordered picnics are available for visitors, and dogs are also welcome to enjoy the gardens.


£1 from every adult entry will be going straight to Children’s

Maureen's Masterpieces Raising Money for CHSW

Keen painter and charity fundraiser Maureen Crofts from Perranporth is supporting a cause close to her heart through the sale of her paintings.


Maureen will be donating the proceeds from the sale of her pieces to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which supports Maureen’s grandson Toby through it’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell. Toby has a life limiting brain disease and along with his family receives care and support from the team at Little Harbour, a cause Maureen is keen to raise vital funds for.

Iconic UK surfwear company Saltrock has continued its support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by designing a very special limited-edition T-shirt in celebration of the charity’s 30th anniversary.

The North Devon-based lifestyle clothing brand raised £10,000 for the charity last year with a range of rainbow-themed T-shirts that sold out within a matter of weeks.

This year, its team have fused CHSW’s logo with Saltrock’s own classic Tok character to create a new design they hope will raise £20,000 to help the hospice continue to provide vital care and respite to local families across

Easter treats bring smiles to Little Harbour

Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell is thanking supporters who donated Easter Eggs and other Easter gifts for the children and families it supports.
The hospice received donations of chocolate eggs as well as activity packs, sensory toys and treats for the staff.


One donation was organised by Rob Selby, from Indian Queens, who was inspired to collect items to give to the hospice knowing that families supported by the charity would be facing another Easter with lockdown restrcitions.

Many have struggled to keep themselves entertained throughout lockdown, especially during the winter months, however a challenge on the Isles of Scilly has not only kept residents busy but also fit.


Sea swimmers Beth Guy and Erica Swain from St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly set up the Lighthouse Challenge as something for residents of the islands to challenge themselves to do over the winter, with the hope to also raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Young supporters of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) are encouraging people to take on a 30-themed activity to celebrate the charity’s 30th anniversary next month.

The 30-Day May Mission is open to everyone, whatever their age or ability, with participants asked to challenge themselves with an activity of their choice and raise a few pounds at the same time.

A leading firm of South West accountants is sponsoring a new fundraising challenge being held to raise thousands of pounds to support seriously ill local children. Rainbow Run Your Way this Summer

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is excited to announce plans for its Rainbow Run Your Way fundraiser on 19 – 20 June 2021.


Rainbow Run has become an event synonymous with sunny days and explosions of colour across three different locations in the south west. Last year for the first time the event went virtual and still raised £100,000 for the charity. This year participants will be encouraged to once again take on the Rainbow Run in their own way.

Running 112 miles in 24 hours!

Paul Dennett, 44, a father of three from Frampton Cotterell, South Gloucestershire, is running 112 miles from London to Bristol in just 24 hours. Dubbed ‘The Long Run Home’ Paul will be pounding the streets on Saturday 10 April in support of Children’s Hospice South West's (CHSW) Sibling Support Service.

Paul has a history of putting his body on the line for CHSW, a cause very close to his heart. Over the years he has taken part in some gruelling events in support of the charity and raised over £26,700 to date.
