Volunteer in our shops
Children’s Hospice South West charity shops play a key role in raising money to fund care and support for babies, children, young people and their families, who are impacted by a life-limiting illness. Every year, we care for more than 500 families.
Our volunteers help us run more than 40 charity shops across the region. Each shop is part of the community. We make friends, we build relationships, and together we create a positive shopping and donation experience for our visitors and supporters.
Learn more about the role
Every day we welcome pre-loved donations; and along with some new goods, prepare these to be sold in the shop. There is always something to put your hand towards from selling items to steaming clothes. It could also be thanking someone for their donation or being the listening ear to someone’s personal experience of being supported by our Care Team.
I absolutely love it. I wouldn’t do anything different.
I worked in mainstream retail before I came to charity but it’s just not as fun. You get such a feeling of pride working for CHSW because you’re giving something back and you know that the money you’re raising is going to a really good cause.
