Charlton Farm, Wraxall

Welcome to Charlton Farm

Charlton Farm usually cares for babies, children, young people and families who live in South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, West Wiltshire, Bristol City and North Somerset. Charlton Farm is situated in Wraxall, North Somerset on the outskirts of Bristol. It can be reached in less than 10 minutes driving from the M5 motorway and is easily and quickly reached from Bristol city centre within 15 minutes.

Charlton Farm is situated in beautiful surroundings in the North Somerset countryside with views over the Severn Estuary. The hospice is an imaginative restoration of a listed farm and farm buildings which has retained the homely feel of the farm house and yet provides stunning and spacious accommodation.

About

Charlton Farm aims to help and support families who face the emotional and physical strain of caring for children who, sadly, are not expected to live into adulthood. This does not make Charlton Farm a sad place, although sadnesses are faced together. Charlton Farm is a place of love, happiness and friendship. We hope to provide a haven, a place where children and their families can be nurtured and cosseted, returning home with renewed vigour and a sense of anticipation for the next visit.

History

Charlton Farm is nestled in magnificent parkland, just west of the city of Bristol. It provides a secluded and beautiful setting in which our families can take some time out and just enjoying spending time as a family.

Charlton Farm has been converted from old farm buildings and barns, but with the interiors purpose-built and equipped with the children in mind. Set in grounds formerly belonging to the Tyntesfield Estate, our neighbours here are fields, mature woodlands with bluebells in the Spring.

Deer, hare, ducks, and rabbits have all been seen, yet it is only a short drive into Bristol and all the attractions of the major city.

Facilities

Charlton Farm has 8 child-friendly rooms and plenty of accommodation for parents and the rest of the family.

It really has a home-from-home feel and we do all we can to make sure that babies, children and young people have some of their favourite toys, games and DVDs waiting for them when they arrive.

Exploration uncovers playrooms, teenagers-only rooms, a spa bath for relieving stiff joints and muscle spasm, a sensory room for chilling out and a soft play area for safe, trouble-free fun.

There is also a games room and a large open plan kitchen and dining room, which forms the heart of the house. There are also a few cosy places to relax and take a little time out.
