Children's Hospice South West's aim is to provide a home from home, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere, where children and young people living with life-limiting conditions, and their families, can come for a much needed break.
Who we care for
We care for children and young people living with a wide range of life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, too numerous to list individually, who are not expected to live into adulthood. We will welcome your child and your whole family. We have plenty of spacious accommodations for parents and siblings, and everyone is welcome to make use of all the facilities and activities at our hospices.
The care we provide
The Care Team
Our Care Teams at each hospice, led by a Head of Care, are made up of people with many different professional and personal backgrounds, but all share a commitment to working with children, young people, and their families, and a wide experience of caring for children and young people. The Care Team works a shift system to ensure there is good continuity of care and a balance of different staff on all shifts, day or night. The range of personal backgrounds and professional expertise in our team is to help us meet the variety of individual needs each child and family will have and to ensure families from all walks of life feel comfortable.
Doctors
Medical support led by our Medical Director, is provided by a team of local GPs and paediatricians who will work in consultation with your own doctors. One of these doctors will visit our hospice each day and provide medical cover on a 24 hour basis, 365 days a year.

How we maintain our standards
Children's Hospice South West is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England with an aim to improve and maintain better standards of care.
