From pallets to planters
Bristol Freemasons are supporting Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by supplying them with wooden pallets so they can be transformed into planters. The pallets have been lovingly reconstructed by Adam Gallagher who lives in Stockwood and is an active supporter of CHSW.
Clark Isles, the charity steward for St Nicholas Masons, said: “We have built a strong relationship with this fantastic charity over the years and we will continue to carry on the support for many years to come. Our primary focus is to try and support as many as people as possible, in this case it was sourcing pallets and delivering them to Adam to carry out his good work.”
The pallets are made in sizes small, medium and large and range from £10-£20 each. There is a choice of finish: cedar, golden or untreated and bespoke pallets can be made to order. So far, sales of the pallets have raised £160 and have been sold in Adam’s local area and to friends, family and colleagues.
Adam said: “It’s a privilege to be able to help CHSW raise funds by making the planters, which I hope supporters will be able to enjoy in their gardens for years to come. I'd also like to thank the Freemasons for helping supply some of the raw materials to make this happen.”
It is thanks to the kindness of the community that we are able to continue to raise vital funds in these difficult times
Frances Kenneally, Community Fundraiser at CHSW, said: “It is thanks to the kindness of the community that we are able to continue to raise vital funds in these difficult times. We’d like to thank the Freemasons for their continued support and to Adam for his time and energy in producing these planters which look fantastic!”
