The 10th International Nailsea Bike Show is taking place on 21st & 22nd September at a new venue, the Ring O’Bells on St Mary’s Grove, Nailsea.

As always, the Show will have a wide and varied selection of bikes on show, from 1940s Indians to modern sports bikes and customs. There will be a full programme of events on both the Saturday and Sunday with lots to see and do.

Bike enthusiasts come from all over the country to enjoy the event, but there’s something for everyone, young or old. The organisers already have a full line up of great music, plenty to eat and drink and a variety of stalls and other exhibits. Plus, there’s lots to keep the children happy as this is very much open to all the family.

One of the organisers, Shane Sawtell said, “We’re really excited about the new venue and anticipate it’ll be the best Nailsea Bike Show yet! We have been awarded a grant from the Town Council and many local businesses are sponsoring the event, so it’s set to be better than ever.”

As in previous years, the event kindly raises funds and awareness for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). CHSW’s Charlton Farm in Wraxall currently supports around 220 families whose children aren’t expected to reach adulthood. The hospice cares for the whole family, providing respite, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as a bereavement support service.

Last year, the Bike Show raised over £5,000 for CHSW and the organisers are hoping to match that amount again in 2019.

Shane said, “It’s a fantastic charity and one which everyone gets behind. It’s local to us, we’ve visited Charlton Farm and we know how life-changing it is for the families who use the hospice.”

Organisers of the Nailsea Bike Show are currently in the process of recruiting an army of helpers for the two-day event. If you’re able to lend a hand on the day with refreshments, or want more information about this fantastic event please visit their website.
