Keynsham Chicks continue to support the hospice
A group of ladies from Keynsham have been knitting chicks and selling them in the local area for 21 years.
The Keynsham Chicks, co-ordinated by Margaret Thompson, kindly give the proceeds to the local children’s hospice - Charlton Farm in Wraxall. Once knitted and stuffed with a chocolate eggs, the chicks are sold all over the local area and beyond during Easter.
The ladies are already planning a Christmas knit this year to raise even more money for the vital work we do
The group visited Charlton Farm during its July Open Day and handed over a cheque for £4,044 to Community Fundraiser, Frances Kenneally, who said “This is an incredible group of people who’ve raised over £10,000 for Charlton Farm in the last three years. The ladies are already planning a Christmas knit this year to raise even more money for the vital work we do. We cannot thank them enough.”
Charlton Farm helps and supports families who face the emotional and physical strain of caring for children who, sadly, are not expected to live into adulthood. It provides a haven, a place where children and their families can be nurtured and cosseted, returning home with renewed vigour and a sense of anticipation for the next visit.
