Coffee morning regulars raise their mugs for children’s hospice
Regulars at a weekly coffee morning in Barnstaple have presented a £500 donation to Children’s Hospice South West.
The Thursday morning get-togethers at the Meddard House retirement housing in Bevan Road have raised tens of thousands of pounds for local good causes over the years, including more than £7,000 since residents were able to get together again following Covid lockdowns.
The money is raised through the sale of raffle tickets, with prizes generously donated by residents and local businesses.
Collecting a cheque for CHSW, long-standing volunteer Ray Hales said: “Little Bridge House in Fremington, as well as CHWS’s other two children’s hospices in Bristol and Cornwall, can only offer vital care to local families thanks to such wonderful support from the local community.
Your generosity will help families make the most of short and precious lives.
CHSW provides vital care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. The charity’s three hospices – Little Bridge House in Fremington, Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell – offer short breaks; specialist medical, palliative, emergency and end-of-life care; play and music therapy; activities for siblings; and bereavement support.
