Robert rides 100 miles in support of hospice

On August 4 2019, Robert Pattison from Dulcote in Wells was one of 10 people who took part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on behalf of local charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The event is a 100-mile cycling event for amateur cyclists, which begins at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with cyclists riding through London and out to the Surrey Hills of Leith Hill and Box Hill before coming back into London and finishing on The Mall.

Wiltshire Farm Foods continue to support Charlton Farm

The Bristol branch of Wiltshire Farm Foods recently presented local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), with a cheque for £1,000 - funds generated by the sale of special charity menu packs to its customers. The company, which cook and deliver frozen meals, has been supporting CHSW since 2013 through a commercial partnership agreement.

Lyme Regis mayor supports Children's Hospice South West

The Mayor of Lyme Regis has chosen Children's Hospice South West as his mayoral charity of the year.

Councillor Brian Larcombe MBE will be raising funds for CHSW throughout his term of office, with various fundraisers already being planned.

He will also be asking local businesses, shops and food outlets to have a collection tin on their counter, encouraging the public to give their small change to support the charity, which provides free care and support for more than 500 children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

TLT raise over £14k for local children’s hospice

Law firm TLT recently presented local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), with a cheque for £14,122.15 following a series of fundraising activities they took part in over the course of a year.

The team from Bristol raised the funds from dress down days, cake sales, and a summer and Halloween quiz. One team member took part on the London Marathon while other staff bravely abseiled more than 200ft down its Bristol office building, which alone raised £6,811.19 in sponsorship.

Megan’s long locks are a big boost to children’s charities

A young girl with complex medical needs has donated her long locks to a charity that provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss.

Megan Killey, 20, from Halwill Junction near Okehampton, is also hoping that her new-look short hair style will raise money for Children’s Hospice South West, the charity that has supported her and her family for the last 19 years at its Little Bridge House hospice near Barnstaple in North Devon.

Honiton man’s emotional coast path walk in memory of niece

An outdoor activity instructor from Honiton is getting ready to walk the entire length of the South West Coast Path this month in memory of his niece.

Paul Boddington, aged 49, is hoping to complete the rugged 1,014km coastline hike from Minehead to Poole in 30 days to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.

He will be setting off on Sunday, September 15, walking between 20 and 40 miles each day and mainly camping overnight or staying with friends.  

Team Kitley to walk on fire

A team from Kitley House Hotel in Yealmpton near Plymouth will be taking part in Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Firewalk which is happening at Kitley House Hotel on Thursday 7th November.

The Firewalk is a sponsored event which will give people the chance to push their boundaries and challenge perceptions by walking along a path of hot coals at temperatures of 1200˚F while raising vital funds for CHSW.
