Take on an Incredible Hike for Children’s Hospice South West

People are being asked to lace up their walking boots and take on an Incredible Hike for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) this spring.

The charity has lined up a raft of inspiring walking routes across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset for supporters to choose from – or they can simply pick one of their own. 

CHSW area fundraiser Kate Romo said: “Whether it’s a scenic stroll or an epic coast path ramble, grab your walking shoes, hike as you like and show your support for local children and families.

Wrington’s intriguing curiosities feature in new booklet

Mark Bullen, who has lived in Wrington for 31 years, has written a booklet about the village with all proceeds benefiting local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).


The Little Book of Wrington Curiosities provides the story behind forty or so ‘objects’ that can be seen during a walk around Wrington and its immediate vicinity. 

Freemasons deliver huge boost for children’s hospices

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has received thousands of pounds in grants from Freemasons in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Provincial Grand Lodges in the three counties chose to give £4,130 to support the charity’s three hospices – Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell.

Betty Stogs raises £30,000 for children's hospice

In a year when the country continued to be in and out of lockdowns, Cornwall was filling up fast with visitors and the power of charitable giving which grew so greatly in 2020 was starting to dwindle as people got their lives back, there was one person who stayed steadfast to their target throughout: Fred Thomas AKA Skinners Brewery mascot Betty Stogs.

Year 8 student completes Everest Challenge

Year 8 Gordano School student, Cian Redman, set his sights high by climbing thousands of metres to raise money for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW). 


Cian set himself a challenge to climb the hight of Mount Everest back in November and after 3 months has achieved his mission by climbing a total of 8,849 metres. Along the way he has been supported by friends, family, and members of his rugby team - Gordano Sharks u13s.

Arthur sharing stories and photos from travels

Porthleven-based Arthur Roberts is travelling around Cornwall telling tales of his travels and showcasing his photography while also raising vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Following various trips to, and exploring around, Norway to photograph birds, other wildlife and the countryside in general, Arthur is now keen to share his stories and photographs to local groups looking for a speaker for upcoming meetings or gatherings.
