Thank you to Exmoor Rotary for supporting CHSW for over 30 years
The generosity and support that CHSW has received from Rotary over the years has been incredible.

On Tuesday 19 November Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) were delighted to accept a cheque for £10,000 from Exmoor Rotary following another successful Rotary Exmoor Youth Challenge that took place earlier this year. This year the challenge saw 118 Junior and 10 Senior teams take part from 55 different schools and organisations, with 503 children overall starting the Challenge.

Jessica Patel, Deputy CEO for CHSW and Emma Perry, Head of Fundraising for CHSW, were delighted to attend the monthly Exmoor Rotary meeting that took place at The Anchor Inn at Exbridge where Rotary club members who help with the Challenge from Tiverton, Exe Valley and Wiveliscombe Clubs also attended. The cheque was presented to them by Alan Woolley, leader of the Exmoor Youth Challenge, on behalf of Exmoor Rotary.

It was such an honour to meet with the Exmoor Rotary and share with them how the funds that they have raised over the last 30 years has reached the incredible sum of £160,000! The generosity and support that CHSW has received from Rotary over the years has been incredible. It’s because of supporters like them that we are able to continue to support children and young people with life-limiting conditions for many years to come.

Alan Woolley, leader of the Exmoor Youth Challenge shares why they chose to support Children’s Hospice South West:

The Youth Challenge involves children from 10 to 18 years old in a rare event were they can succeed due to their own efforts through working in a team. This gives them a natural affinity with the great work CHSW does for children who are less fortunate than them and they are keen to get sponsorship to support them with some individual children even raising over £500.

This popular event has grown over the years and now over 100 teams of young people take part, some from over 100 miles away. The event is supported by Exmoor National Park, Exmoor Search and Rescue, SMT Ambulance, Wessex Water, Exmoor Radio Club, and many volunteers, making it such a successful annual event”
