14 NatWest branch managers from across Cornwall and Devon are taking part in one of Bodmin Jail’s After Dark nights on 8th November and are hoping to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) while they do so.
After building a good relationship with the venue, known as the UK’s most haunted venue, it was suggested that the team might like to take part in the event and after a lot of persuading 14 managers are now signed up to take part.
On the evening participants will be introduced to the venue’s Psychic Medium and Energy Therapist who will guide them through their experience. They will have workshops throughout the night while also hearing about the history of the jail from the last 230 years including stories of over 50 people who were executed within its walls.
Steve Aldridge Local Director for West Country Market at NatWest will also be spending the night and said;
Whilst I am petrified I know that the hospice relies on fundraising to make the most of short and precious lives across the South West.
Bernadette Chambers, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for CHSW said “This is a great example of some of the different ways that people can raise funds for us while giving themselves a challenge. For many people this type of event would simply be too scary so it is great to have 14 colleagues from NatWest who are all willing to take this on in the name of raising as much money as possible for CHSW.”
CHSW has three children’s hospices in the region providing short breaks and respite for children and their families as well as end of life care and bereavement support.
Anyone interested in doing some fundraising for CHSW in the run up to Christmas should get in touch with the Fundraising Team at Little Harbour who would be happy to chat through ideas and provide support, call on 01726 871800.
