About the opportunity

Children’s Hospice South West are looking for a volunteer who is interested in giving their time to represent CHSW as part of our active fundraising team. You will become the CHSW Ambassador to support the ongoing fundraising in our local communities and help raise awareness of the essential work we do caring for local families. The role entails supporting the local Area Fundraiser to deliver excellent fundraising and donor support within the local community. The role can be supporting local events, attending cheque presentations and working with anyone fundraising for us. This can be anyone from individuals to local schools and colleges or even organisations and local businesses. Helping to deliver exceptional fundraising and support for the continued care of children and families across the South West. The role will work closely with other volunteers on occasions and be fully supported by the local Area Fundraiser and the wider teams within the organisation.

An individual who would like to volunteer for a worthwhile local cause and work within the local community supporting all types of fundraising activity, as required. This is a great opportunity to utilise your skills, knowledge and experience to benefit a worthwhile cause, enabling the continued success of local fundraising and ensure CHSW can maximise the potential of every opportunity. Using your exceptional communication skills you can help us to raise awareness of the work of Children’s Hospice South West and inspire others to support the charity. 

Practical considerations  

Ideally the Fundraising Ambassador will need to have access to their own transport and be prepared to travel to local areas to attend events or support fundraising. In the role you will need to commit to giving time to support the Area Fundraiser and be available to offer support when required at various times throughout the year.

An individual who wants to utilise their expertise, skills, and knowledge to help support and develop the fundraising opportunities and raise money to enable the vital care provided at CHSW. Someone wishing to develop their own skills and knowledge building self-confidence and gain experience to benefit you in the future. At the same time wishing to support, raise funds and awareness for a great local cause. You should be keen to meet new people, have good communication skills, and a passion for supporting the work of Children’s Hospice South West. 

Tasks may include  

  • Working with individuals, groups or organisations 
  • Working with schools, colleges or businesses 
  • Attending presentations and assemblies 
  • Attending local community events  
  • Attending cheque presentations and photo opportunities  
  • Excepting donations  
  • Supporting other CHSW Friends Groups
  • Being an ambassador for CHSW

When  

This role can start straight away and is required to give regular support to the Area Fundraiser throughout the year. At the busier times of the year it would be desirable to be able to offer ongoing weekly support. The hours can be flexible to suit you and your commitments as well as flexible to the needs of the organisation.
