Local businesses backing return of Rainbow Run
Six local businesses joined Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) at RAF St Mawgan last week ahead of the return of the charity’s Rainbow Run next month which they are all sponsoring.
The main sponsor of the event is Ann’s Cottage; the largest retailer of surf wear and accessories in Cornwall, and joining as paint station sponsors are The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Moose Toys, Steve Andrews Tyres, Happy Days and Biffa.
After a two year hiatus the CHSW team cannot wait to bring the event back to St Mawgan on Saturday 18 June and having the support of these businesses guarantees even more money will be raised from the event.
Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser at CHSW said; “To have the support of these six local businesses, that are as excited as we are about the return of the Rainbow Run, is just fantastic.
Their sponsorship means that even more of the event costs are covered and money raised by those taking part can importantly go straight towards the care and support we are offering to local children and families in our hospices, as well as virtually and now in children‘s homes.
Over 700 people have already signed up to take part in the Rainbow Run which will see them walk, jog or run the flat 5km route around RAF St Mawgan where they will get covered in powder paint of all colours of the rainbow.
The event is open to anyone over the age of 5 and tickets cost £20 for adults and £14 for children. Everyone taking part is encouraged to raise £20 to help fund one hour of care at Little Harbour children’s hospice.
On the day there will be an event village full of entertainment, stands, food and games and there will be performances from Cornwall Rock choir to keep everyone entertained for a whole family day out.
