Easter activities at Hidden Woods
On Saturday 2 April a very special Easter-themed Forest School event is being held at Hidden Woods near Farleigh Hungerford in conjunction with Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Hidden Woods is an award-winning woodland activity centre based in 80 acres of ancient woodland just a stone’s throw from Bath and Frome. It has teamed up with CHSW as both organisations have synergy in their values and mission.
At its local hospice, Charlton Farm, CHSW seeks to enrich children’s lives; children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions. The charity puts the family at the heart of everything they do when offering respite, palliative, end-of-life, and bereavement care.
There will be a variety of Easter-themed activities taking place on the day, which also marks the 10th anniversary of Hidden Woods’ very first Forest School session.
MiTEQ’s Marketing Manager and author, Will Hamillton-Davies, will be there reading his book 'The Shrew with the Flu', CHSW will be selling cakes and refreshments, and students from Norland College will be volunteering on the day.
Heidi Roberts, CHSW Area Fundraiser, said: “It is sure to be a truly wonderful day. So many people from the local community are giving up their time to enjoy Hidden Woods, which is the most wonderful natural playground.”
Forty tickets are available for the two-and-a-half-hour session at £15 per person, with £5 of the ticket price being donated to CHSW.
“The session take place in a safe environment and will offer children the opportunity to explore, play and enjoy the natural environment,” added Heidi.
