Massy Ferguson Restored and £1000 Donated to CHSW
Members of the Tamar Restoration and Engineering Club, based in the Tamar Valley, have recently handed over a donation of £1000 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) following the completion of the restoration of a tractor.
The Club was set up four years ago and members from Tavistock to Liskeard meet once a week and tackle restoring all things from Land Rovers to tractors and everything mechanical in between.
“It’s the highlight of my week, coming out here and working on these projects” one member said.
Instead of taking payment for projects such as this, the club kindly collects money for local charities and CHSW was delighted to be the group’s chosen charity for the second year running.
Sherelle Puertas, Community Fundraiser for CHSW recently collected the £1000 donation on behalf of CHSW and said “It was lovely to meet the Tamar Restoration and Engineering Club members. The past few months have seen us having to adapt the way we care for and support our families so donations like this are so important to enable us to continue providing this vital care in new ways.”
CHSW supports over 500 families across the south west through its three children’s hospices including Little Harbour in St Austell. Little Harbour supports children with life limiting illnesses and their families from Penzance up to Plymouth. The hospice team is currently providing a lot of support in families’ homes and virtually while also continuing to offer symptom management, end of life care and bereavement support in the hospice.
