When they first started visiting Little Harbour for short breaks Luke and Angie found it difficult to handover the care of their son to the team at Little Harbour. They knew his needs and quirks inside out and were understandably nervous to leave his care in the hands of new people.

The family enjoy their visits to the hospice and the change of scenery it brings, dad Luke often visits the local golf club for a round of golf and the family relax all together in the beautiful surroundings of the hospice with the company of hospice staff and other families.

However their most recent visit saw Luke and Angie make a big step in getting some real respite…

After regular visits to the hospice the couple have gained great trust in the team at Little Harbour and on their recent stay they left Seth in their care while they went out one evening and enjoyed a meal out on their own which is a real milestone and gave them a rare opportunity to spend some time together just as a couple.

Making precious memories and having new experiences really is a theme for the family when they stay at Little Harbour. Before coming to Little Harbour Seth had never experienced a trip to the beach, he doesn’t travel well and changing seats and getting in and out of vehicles can cause him to go into spasm. While staying at Little Harbour the family made the most of being so close to Porthpean beach which they visited for the first ever time. They were able to enjoy the sun, have a paddle in the sea and enjoy the sea air and the sand between their toes, this is something they now hope to repeat on future visits and will treasure these memories forever.
