Enjoy a magical cruise along the North Devon coast in aid of children’s hospice
The stunning North Devon coastline will form the backdrop of a brand-new fundraising event for Children’s Hospice South West this summer.
The charity’s inaugural Oldenburg Coastal Cruise takes place on Sunday, August 11 and offers passengers the chance to enjoy breath-taking views of some of England’s highest cliffs, while supporting Devon’s only children’s hospice.
The two-and-a-half-hour cruise sets sail from Ilfracombe Harbour at 2.30pm and will take guests along the Exmoor coast towards Lynmouth and Porlock.
Passengers can enjoy a glass of fizz on arrival and relax aboard Lundy Island’s famous passenger ferry with a cream tea and live music from Good Company. There will also be a charity raffle to help raise funds for CHSW, which offers vital care and respite to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
All proceeds from the cruise will go towards helping the charity make the most of short and precious lives at its Little Bridge House hospice in Fremington.
CHSW community fundraiser Josh Allan said: “This promises to be a super afternoon and the chance to see the dramatic North Devon coastline at its finest.
“It’s also a really great way to help your local children’s hospice, which currently supports nearly 200 children with life-limiting conditions and their families.”
Tickets are £20 for adults and £15 for children under the age of 16. A return bus from Barnstaple will leave the Cattle Market at 1.15pm. A limited number of bus tickets are available, priced £5.
