Ruth Lovell, is taking part in her third Ride for Precious Lives this year. Ruth has raised thousands of pounds for CHSW and always come up with ingenious ways to fundraise, rather than simply asking for sponsorship.

Here are her top fundraising ideas and tips:

  • Cake sale with raffle at home: Raised £280
  • Village hall cake and book sale with raffle: Raised £340
  • Pub quiz night and raffle: Raised £800
  • 8-hour static bike cycle at Tesco: Raised £346
  • 8-hour Tesco static bike cycle with table and display stand: Raised £551
  • If you have more than one person fundraising, it’s better to have two static bikes and a mile meter on each rear tire so that you can tell people how far you've gone. You could also ask people to pay £2 to enter a competition to guess the total miles cycled with a £10 prize …or ask if the supermarket will donate a voucher.
  •  Organise a raffle if possible as they tend to raise more money than cake or book sales.
