New charity shop hits Falmouth high street
Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is excited to announce the opening of its new shop on Falmouth’s bustling high street.
The shop opened its green doors to the public on Monday 14 April, and sits on the busy Market Street in the seaside town.
A local family who are supported by CHSW’s Little Harbour hospice in St Austell were involved in opening the shop. Following a few words given by CHSW’s CEO Phil Morris, Jacob and his 2 sisters Millie and Isla, cut a green ribbon to officially mark the opening.
The new shop has a range of goods on offer, including quality women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as children’s toys and games, books, media and bric-a-brac.
Jerome Browne, Area Retail Manager for CHSW, said: “We are delighted to have opened our newest shop here in Falmouth. We aim to be at the heart of the town’s community while helping to raise vital funds for CHSW.
Whatever way you are able to support us in the store, whether that’s shopping with us, by dropping off donations or even volunteering, you’ll be helping to local families. Little Harbour currently supports 124 babies, children and young people from across Cornwall and Plymouth, so by shopping and donating good quality items you will be making such a difference to them, thank you.
CHSW is also on the hunt for some enthusiastic volunteers to help run the new shop. There’s a variety of tasks that volunteers can get involved with from processing donated stock, to window displays, dressing mannequins and taking payments. It’s a great way to meet other people and really help to make a difference in the local community.
For anyone interested in finding out more about volunteering please pop into the shop and speak to Shop Manager Tanya Henderson, or call the shop on 01326 459 058.
Jerome continued: “The shop will need filling with the people of Falmouth’s good quality, second-hand items and we look forward to seeing you in store!”
Donations can be dropped off during opening hours; Monday - Saturday 09.00-17.00 and Sundays 10.00-16.00.
