Climbing for a Cause: The Channel Partnership Takes on Pen Y Fan for local children’s hospice
The team at The Channel Partnership are taking on an exciting challenge this spring. On Saturday 5 April, they’ll be hiking up the iconic Pen Y Fan to raise vital funds for their long-time partner charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Since 2021, The Channel Partnership have been a passionate supporter of CHSW, raising over £7000 through a series of fundraising events and lending a helping hand in volunteer work throughout 2024.
Rob Newsham, Director of The Channel Partnership added: “We are raising money for CHSW as we are continually amazed at the support it provides to families in the most difficult of circumstances. What the hospice offers is nothing short of remarkable and hopefully we can play a small part in allowing the team to continue their truly incredible work.”
CHSW provides vital care and services to babies, children and young people across the region, including short breaks, specialist play, sibling activities, emergency and end-of-life care and bereavement support, available 24/7, 365 days a year. With running costs of £14 million per year for its three South West hospice sites, CHSW relies heavily on voluntary donations, with less than 11% of its funding coming from the government.
Amanda Gallagher, Corporate Fundraiser for CHSW said: “The Channel Partnership have been so supportive over the years, we are delighted to see them take on their next challenge and look forward to planning more fundraising and volunteering in the years ahead. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather!
