King Harry Ferry raises over £2,400 for local children’s hospice
The staff and crew of Cornwall's iconic King Harry Ferry have demonstrated their community spirit once again by raising £2,420 for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) Little Harbour.
CHSW was the ferry’s chosen charity for 2024. The donations were collected through passenger fares throughout the year, reflecting the ferry service's innovative approach to fundraising.
Little Harbour, which provides essential care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West, was carefully selected by the ferry team for its profound local impact.
Garrick Royle, Managing Director of King Harry Ferry, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership:
We are happy to support Children's Hospice South West in their remarkable work. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need in our area."
Amanda Masters, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said: “From all of us at CHSW, we’d like to say a big thank you to the staff and crew of the wonderful King Harry Ferry. It is such a key mode of transport over the River Fal, in such a beautiful location, and we’re so grateful for the generosity shown from the Cornish public and tourists that use it.”
The initiative continues King Harry Ferry's tradition of supporting local causes, with the team selecting a new charity or appeal each year that resonates with their values and community focus.
