Jadeen shares what the role of a digital fundraiser involves.
“Digital Fundraising is a really exciting and ever changing area of fundraising with lots of opportunity to test new ideas. Charities of all sizes are exploring digital fundraising and sharing successes and learnings."
Jadeen is excited about CHSW’s upcoming Facebook challenge, a brand new event for the charity which involves getting out and about with your four legged friends:
“We're currently in the midst of our October Dog Walking Challenge on Facebook with participants committing to completing 70 miles throughout the month with their paw-some pooches! So, I get to cheer people on in our Facebook group and look at photos of adorable dogs.”
“I have also been working recently on growing our streaming and gaming fundraising campaigns by working with streamers and industry experts. This involves using platforms and tech not previously used by the charity and connecting with new audiences in different ways.”
When asked what attracted Jadeen to apply for the Digital Fundraising job at her local children's hospice, she says;
“The vision and excitement about Digital Fundraising was exciting to find, as many are still cautious about embracing it. My background is in hospice fundraising so I was very familiar with how joyful hospices often are with families spending time together and being fully present in that space. The love and care for every family who visits is palpable and it makes me proud to work here.”
“If anyone is interested in following a career in Digital Fundraising you need to have a love for research and data, understanding what it says and making decisions based on it. It’s also quite a creative role coming up with new and engaging concepts.”
“Clear communication is vitally important in this role as Digital Fundraising requires a shift in our understanding of how fundraising works and being able to inspire others to come on this journey with you is key."
“One of the things I enjoy is being able to problem solve. Things will break and ideas will fail but it’s the ability to understand why and reach an effective solution for next time which is most important.”
“Finally, an open mind is essential in Digital Fundraising as you're always learning new and better ways to raise vital funds through Digital Fundraising which in turn helps to support children and young people with life-limiting conditions here in the South West. It’s an incredibly rewarding role.”
