Yoghurt fans raise pot of cash for children's hospice

06 September 2024 chsw

The nation’s yogurt lovers have voted to support Children’s Hospice South West as their chosen charity with their Yeo Valley Organic tokens, raising a fantastic £1,500 towards hospice care and support for children and young people with life limiting conditions.

The South West based organic dairy brand asks people to donate their “Yeokens” (tokens found on packaging of their products) towards good causes. The company donates £14,000 each year to causes put forward by its customers.  Every three-months people vote for three organisations to receive £1,000 each, with the winner with the most votes and Yeoken donations receiving the top prize of £1,500.

This summer Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) pipped two other causes to the top spot with over 250,000 Yeokens donated winning a £1,500 donation.

CHSW’s Regional Partnership Fundraiser Hayley Wallbank said: “It was a dairy delight to visit Yeo Valley Organic HQ to accept their kind and generous donation of £1,500 as part of their Yeokens charity initiative.

This donation will help to support and care for children and young people with a life-limiting illness and their families who rely on our services 365 days a year.

We provide families with a home from home space to be together and make precious memories to cherish while receiving expert medical care.

Thank you to all who supported us and thank you to Yeo Valley Organic for your wonderful donation to support families in the South West.”

Yeo Valley Organic Brand Manager Josie Coupland said: “We love that everyone’s a winner with our Yeokens charities and that we get to donate up to £14,000 a year to good causes across the country.

We’re a family business based in Somerset and it’s great to see the popularity for causes close to our consumers’ heart.

Over 3 million Yeokens are donated every year so people are not only supporting Britain’s organic dairy farmers they’re also helping to make a difference.”

CHSW provides hospice breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at three wonderful children's hospices in the South West; Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.
