Festive fundraising for our families
Getting festive this Christmas for Children’s Hospice South West is a way your family can help to raise vital funds to ensure that local children, young people and their families can continue to receive the care they need now and in the future.
We are asking each member of Team Santa to raise £25 which could help fund our 24-hour telephone line or to raise £70 as a family that will fund 1 hour of care for a child at 1 of our 3 hospices.
How to fundraise
We will be sending a postal fundraising pack with your runner number and with all printable downloads to you, however kick start your fundraising early by:
- Set up a JustGiving and share with friends and family on social media
- Join the Facebook event for festive fundraising ideas
- Hold your own festive themed event like a cake sale, Christmas quiz or raffle.
- Collect spare change and add to your festive coin collection card.
Your fundraising truly makes a difference to the more than 500 families we are currently supporting this Christmas—every penny counts, so no contribution is too small.

What is Santas on the Run?
Santas on the Run is an untimed 2k circular course around the Eden Project where participants of any age can walk, jog or run dressed in their favourite Christmas-themed costume. You can take part with your friends, family, children, work colleagues or community group.
On the course there will be 4 Christmas-themed stations to stop at and enjoy – these are the selfie station, snow station, choir station and festive treat station. You also receive free entry into the Eden Project for the day to make it a truly memorable day out!
Festive fancy dress ideas
We do not supply Santa suits as a part of your registration fee and have therefore reduced the entry fee to reflect this. This is to reduce the impact of single use Santa suits on the environment and also give you the opportunity to choose whether you want to be a Santa, reindeer, snowman, Christmas tree or just creative with any other festive attire.
We cannot wait to see what festive fancy dress you decide to take part in so here are some ideas below to get you thinking:
- Get creative with Christmas face paints
- Sleigh it like Santa – dress up in red and decorate your Santa beard
- Rock it like Rudolph- make reindeer ears with baubles!
- Twinkle like tinsel – create your outfit with Christmas decorations and lights!
- Sock it like a snowman
- Get inspired from your favourite Christmas themed movie
- Find a white t-shirt and decorate it with festive pictures!
- Make your own Christmas flag to carry
