Golfers tee off for children's hospice

19 August 2024 CHSW

An annual Rotary golf day has raised £1,000 for Children’s Hospice South West.

The event, organised by Weston-super-Mare Rotary Club, saw players take to the fairways to raise money for a range of charities. Since its inception, the event has raised more than £200,000 to enable the Rotary to continue its work in the local community.

The winning team at this year’s event was Eddy’s Hornets with a top score of 93 points, followed in second place by Source Electrical with 91 points. The team from Tee’d Up and Twisted scooped the accolade for the best dressed golfers of the tournament.

Rotary President Helen Green said:

It is because of the support we receive from golfers and local businesses sponsoring teams on the day, as well as advertising in the programme, that over the years this event has raised more than £200,000 helping to ensure that we are able to continue the charitable work in the local community.
