Tregony and Trewoon craft fairs
Trewoon Community Fundraising group are organising a weekend of craft fairs on 4 – 5 December in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
On Saturday 4 December Tregony village hall will be hosting a craft fair from 11am to 4pm and on Sunday 5 December there will be a craft fair held at Trewoon village hall also from 11am to 4pm.
There will be over 20 stalls at each fair showcasing a wide variety of lovingly handmade items by talented local makers.
These fairs will be a great opportunity to purchase gifts for friends and family made locally. There will be such a range on offer including handmade cards, fused-glass, vegan bath products, slate items, cushions, Cornish tartan gifts and even treats for your four legged companions.
A prize raffle will be held at each of the fairs, and refreshments will also be available to buy.
Trewoon Community Fundraising group has raised over £4000 for a variety of good causes including over £2000 for Children’s Hospice South West, since the summer, in celebration of the charity’s 30th anniversary.
Michelle Toogood-Johnson from the group is looking forward to the weekend and said; “We thought that it would be lovely to hold a weekend of Craft Fairs in the run up to Christmas, to help benefit the families and children who will have need of the hospices over this period.
Charities have been hit really hard during this pandemic, being unable to fundraise at times and, with the population having to tighten their purse strings, they are finding that people are unable to donate as much as in previous years which is why events like this are so important.
Area Fundraiser for CHSW, Bernadette Chambers, said; “We are so grateful to have the support of the Trewoon Community Fundraising group and their craft fairs.
It is going to be a fantastic weekend showcasing locally made goods and we hope it not only helps people with their Christmas shopping but also helps raise vital funds for Little Harbour children’s hospice too.”
