Taxi firm gears up to support Children's Hospice Week
Portishead-based taxi company, Red7s, is supporting this year’s Children’s Hospice Week by offering journeys within Clevedon in return for a donation to local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Red7s is implementing this fantastic charity initiative from Monday 17 June until Friday 21 June 2019 between 9:30am and 5pm.
Children’s Hospice Week, which takes place from 17-23 June, is the only week in the year dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children’s hospices across the UK.
Children’s Hospice Week, which takes place from 17-23 June, is the only week in the year dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children’s hospices across the UK. The services offered by children’s hospices provide a lifeline for families facing the toughest of times and they cannot continue their vital work without the help of people in the community. CHSW’s local hospice, Charlton Farm, currently supports over 220 families from North Somerset, Bristol, Bath and beyond and is largely funded by voluntary donations.
Red7s, owned by Techxi, serves the whole of North Somerset. Director, Gareth Lee, said, “We were looking to support a local charity that made a real impact on the community it serves. Whilst all good causes are worthwhile, CHSW and its activities touched the heart of us as a company. Our initiative is being launched during Children’s Hospice Week but for us we want to forge a long-term relationship with CHSW to assist it in delivering its amazing service.
“Subject to availability, a number of taxis will be devoted to this initiative throughout the week, however, should demand exceed availability there may be a delay or instances where we cannot accept the booking. Nevertheless, it is our intention to complete as many of the free journeys as possible.”
Emma Parker, Community Fundraiser at CHSW said “We are thrilled Red7s is supporting us in this way and we are looking forward to building on this relationship by partnering with them in other initiatives throughout the year.”
