Stagecoach Santa bus pays special festive visit to Children’s Hospice South West
Stagecoach South West brought Christmas cheer to children this week when its Santa bus visited Children’s Hospice South West in North Devon.
Gary the Rabbit and the Stagecoach elves visited the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice near Barnstaple to hand out festive treats including goody bags and art and craft supplies for the sensory playroom.
Little Bridge House provides respite, palliative, end-of-life and bereavement support for nearly 200 children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Parents can take a break from being primary carers for a few days and brothers and sisters are supported by a dedicated sibling team, meaning the whole family can relax and make precious memories together.
Paul Clark, Operations Director of Stagecoach South West, said: “Stagecoach is committed to giving back to the communities we serve, by supporting local charities and organisations.
“We are aware of the great work Children’s Hospice South West does to provide such brilliant care and support to children and their families, and we were delighted to be able to visit Little Bridge House to spread some festive cheer and meet some of the inspiring staff, patients and relatives”
Sally Norden, a sibling worker at Little Bridge House, said: “We want to say a big thank-you to Stagecoach South West for visiting the hospice with their Christmas bus and helping families staying this week to make special memories together.
“We’re all ready for Christmas at Little Bridge House and it was lovely to welcome Gary the Rabbit and the Stagecoach elves and see the smiles on the children’s faces.”
