Recycle your Christmas tree and raise money for Little Harbour

20 November 2024 CHSW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is offering a Christmas tree recycling service for households across Cornwall.

Last Christmas, ‘treecyclers’ raised thousands for the charity, which runs Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell, as well as Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Bridge House in North Devon.

This year, it is collecting real Christmas trees in even more locations in return for a donation to CHSW. The postcodes in Cornwall are PL13, PL14, PL22, PL23, PL24, PL25, PL26, PL30, PL31, TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, TR5, TR6, TR7 and TR8.

Volunteers from Biffa will be collecting trees between Monday 13 January and Friday 17 January 2025, and collections can be booked in advance on the Just Helping website until Wednesday 8 January 2025.

CHSW Events Fundraiser, Kiley Pearce said: “This is such an easy, green and charitable way to recycle your Christmas tree, while helping to support Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

The money raised from collecting and recycling trees will help make a huge difference at the most difficult of times, so don’t wait – book your collection in today!

“We’d like to say a huge thank-you to Biffa, who are generously donating their time and vehicles to help us collect the Christmas trees – we are very grateful for their support.”

The charity is hoping to raise vital funds to support children and young people with life-limiting conditions and support bereaved families by asking for a donation when booking your tree in to be recycled. £20 could help fund fun times in the hydrotherapy pool for families to make memories together.
