Powering Hope: Renewable Energy Company raises £15,000 for local children’s hospice in 12 Months
In 2024, Ethical Power, a leader in the renewable energy industry, chose Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as their charity of the year, kicking off an exciting year of fundraising challenges. The company raised over £15,000 through a series of fun and engaging events.
Staff at Ethical Power took part in a variety of activities to support the charity, including the challenging Three Peaks hike, the Bristol 10k, cycling challenges, bake sales, and raffles, all of which contributed to the total funds raised.
One of the standout fundraising challenges saw Ethical Power’s Jake Humphries and Christopher Rodgers take on Bristol's Half Marathon, while wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE). Their gear, which included boots, overalls, hard hats, and gloves, was uniquely decorated by the children at the Charlton Farm hospice, in Wraxall.
“Both Chris and I are passionate about the hospice and the work it does,” said Jake. “Our family knows first-hand what a difference CHSW makes to so many families across the Southwest.”
Amanda Gallagher, Corporate Fundraiser for CHSW said: “We are incredibly grateful to the whole team at Ethical Power for their support throughout 2024. Whether it was purchasing a raffle ticket or taking on the Three Peaks challenge, the impressive total raised could fund three hospice stays for families facing the most unimaginable times.”
CEO of Ethical Power, Tom Kneen added: Children’s Hospice South West holds a special place in our hearts at Ethical Power. It is a cause we deeply care about, and we’re delighted to support them in the best way we can. This was the first charity we partnered with when we were just starting out, and while our initial contributions were much smaller, I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, having been able to donate over £15,000. Last year’s fundraising efforts have been truly inspiring, and I want to commend our teams for their dedication and the incredible effort that made it possible. Our greatest appreciation, however, is reserved for the team at CHSW, who do amazing work every day, helping to brighten the little lives of those who need it the most.”
