Morley match raises over £400
£420 was raised for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) at the Morley Rangers charity football match on Saturday 14 May.
The match was played and money raised in memory of Oliver Brown who was known to lots playing in the match, many being coaches and managers of the various Morley Rangers teams.
Match organiser Jay Hensman said; “We knew Oliver and his family really well and this is probably the sixth match we have played to raise money for the charity. This match was against a group of dads and lads who play football with each other on a Monday night to keep fit and it was great to do it for such a fantastic cause.”
Oliver, who was from Plymstock, died in November 2019 aged 11 following a battle with a rare blood cancer. Oliver and his family, including younger brother Benjamin, received care and support from Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell which is run by CHSW. Oliver visited for respite stays and died at the hospice with his family around him.
Little Harbour supports children and families from across Plymouth and Cornwall who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
