Lynne is ready to lead Moonlight Memory Walk
Lynne Vosper from Falmouth is looking forward to taking part in Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) 10th anniversary Moonlight Memory Walk which is happening in Falmouth on Saturday 30th March.
Lynne has taken part in all but one of the charity’s Moonlight Memory Walks over the last 10 years and this year she will be leading the hundreds of walkers at the special 10th anniversary event.
“The first time that I took part in the Moonlight Memory Walk was in 2011, a year after I had lost my Mum. I wanted to walk in memory of my Mum, Dad and brother, and to try to raise money to support the wonderful work of Children’s Hospice South West at Little Harbour. I walked with my sister-in-law and we both found the atmosphere on the evening emotional and uplifting at the same time.
To have a very large group of people all working together for a special cause is certainly a powerful thing; you could feel it, in fact you could almost touch it.
There is less than two weeks to go before CHSW’s Moonlight Memory Walk and hundreds of people take to the streets of Falmouth at 10pm on 30th March and walk in memory of their loved ones. Historically a ladies-only event, to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year men can join in the event too.
Those unable to make the event on the evening are being encouraged to take part virtually by walking 5 miles in their own time and can still be a part of the memory ceremony by watching through Facebook live on the night.
The team at CHSW is asking those wishing to take part to register online by clicking here as soon as possible giving time to raise their sponsorship before the night. Registration fee for the event is £10 which includes a goody bag, medal, t shirt and pasty after the walk.
Money raised from the event will help CHSW to continue providing care and support to children and families needing to use Little Harbour children’s hospice for short breaks, respite, end of life care and bereavement support.
If you have any questions about the event please call the CHSW Fundraising Team on 01726 871800.
