Helston shop volunteer celebrates 90th Birthday
A Cornish lady who volunteers in Children's Hospice South West's (CHSW) Helston charity shop recently celebrated turning 90.
Peal from St Keverne drives to Helston 3 times a week for her 4 hour shifts.
She has volunteered for the charity for 8 and a half years, and is a friendly, familiar face for local shoppers.
Jerome Brown, Area Retail Manager for CHSW, presented Pearl with some flowers to celebrate her birthday.
Jerome said: "Pearl is an absolute superstar on the till and knows a lot of the regulars by name.
"All her regulars comment on how glamorous and colourful Pearl always looks and her colleagues love her baking skills, in particular her triple layered raspberry Victoria sponge.
Pearl always has a twinkle in her eye and a permanent smile on her face. She is an absolute delight.
