Feast for families thanks to Danish Crown donation
Danish Crown, a meat factory in Bugle St Austell, has made a generous donation of meat and hampers to Little Harbour children’s hospice at Porthpean run by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). The company have supported the charity for many years through various fundraising activities and have recently signed up to the CHSW Business Club.
The donation was delivered straight to the kitchen door at Little Harbour by Mark Hall and Alesha Banfield from Danish Crown.
“We wanted to support this great charity as we have done for the past 5+ years."
We feel that as a business within the Cornish community it is important for us to give something back and the work done at Little Harbour is invaluable
Said Mark Hall, Head of Business Controlling at Danish Crown UK.
The donation was gratefully received by the kitchen team at Little Harbour who have continued to provide food for families staying and visiting the hospice throughout the pandemic for resilience stays and end of life care. Last year the hospice also helped families by providing them with food boxes when supermarket deliveries were difficult to secure as well as delivering cake boxes as treats during door step visits and home visits.
Bernadette Chambers, Area Fundraiser for CHSW said; “Donations come in all shapes and sizes to Little Harbour and we are really grateful for them all. Being able to provide our families with tasty home cooked meals, which they haven’t had to prepare, while they are staying at, or visiting, the hospice is a really important part of what we do. We are so grateful to Danish Crown for this thoughtful donation and know that it will create many a delicious meal for our families who really will appreciate them.”
CHSW is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year, if you or your business would like to support the charity in this special anniversary year please click here for more information or call Little Harbour on 01726 871800 to speak to one of the Fundraising Team.
