Evening of entertainment for local children’s hospice
Saint Andrew Lodge in Tywardreath raised £950 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The extravaganza was held at Brian and Brenda Ball’s property in July and more than 150 guests were treated to entertainment from Cornish comedian Johnny Cowling as well as a hog roast and delicious desserts.
Money raised from the night will go to CHSW’s Little Harbour hospice in Porthpean, St Austell as well as other charities including Go Beyond in Tywardreath.
David Leaity, from Saint Andrew Lodge, said: “Saint Andrew Lodge is delighted to continue its support for Children's Hospice South West.
The wonderful service this charity provides to families in their most difficult moments has touched the hearts of our members.
Amanda Masters, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said: “This annual fundraiser is enjoyed by many and we are so grateful for every penny raised.
"Thank you to everyone who was involved in this special evening, it really makes all the difference to the families who use Little Harbour."
CHSW runs three children’s hospices across the south west, including Little Harbour which is situated overlooking St Austell Bay.
Little Harbour provides free support to children with life limiting illnesses and their families, including respite, palliative care, end of life care and bereavement support. The hospice also offers resilience stays, as well as support in families’ own homes.
