Dust off your collectibles!
Time to scour the loft, find out that old painting and dust off those antiques, as the Rotary Club of Torrington is hosting an Antiques and Collectibles Charity Valuation Day in support of CHSW at the stunning RHS Rosemoor Gardens on Wednesday 25 April.
With world-renowned valuers from leading auction houses, Cavendish Philatelic Auctions and Dominic Winter Auctioneers, the day will be a unique opportunity to have your much-loved items assessed by expert eyes.
Visitors will be able to bring china & ornaments, stamps & old letters, books & manuscripts, paintings, prints, coins, medals, watches and jewellery for viewing. Unfortunately, the team cannot accommodate furniture items, but visitors are welcome to bring photos instead. Your items will then be assessed by internationally acclaimed valuers, James Grimwood-Taylor, Chris Albury, Nathan Winter and Henry Meadows.
The valuers are all giving their time for free, and Ray Harris, President of Torrington Rotary Club said: ‘We’re so excited to be able to bring this event to North Devon and cannot thank RHS Rosemoor and our specialist valuers enough for their generous support. Continuing with our long tradition of helping local communities, we’ve chosen to support Children’s Hospice South West with this event and we hope that it will be a great success.’
Entry is £5 per adult which includes one free valuation, and you can purchase extra valuations on the day. All monies raised will go directly to Children’s Hospice South West’s Little Bridge House hospice near Barnstaple, which offers medical and respite care for children with life-limited conditions and their families.
Josh Allan, community fundraiser at Little Bridge House said:
This is such a great opportunity for the local community and we’re so grateful that the event is to raise funds for our Little Bridge House hospice. How exciting, will it be if someone discovers that they have been keeping a treasure in the attic?!
The valuations will be hosted in Rosemoor’s stunning Garden Room, and for more information, please see Charity Valuation Day
