Cornish dental company raises over £25,000 for local children’s hospice
An employee-owned dental community interest company with practices across the county has raised £25,365 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The Smile Together team chose to raise money for Little Harbour, CHSW’s hospice in Porthpean, St Austell, as their Charity of the Year partnership.
Little Harbour, CHSW’s ‘hospice by the sea’ has everything a sick child and their family needs to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, with a fully equipped sensory room, hydrotherapy pool and soft play area. It costs around £3 million a year to keep the hospice running.
Nick Findjan, Finance Manager for Smile Together, was delighted to present the final donation to Amanda Masters, Area Fundraiser for CHSW.
Nick said: “As employee-owners in our business, colleagues choose which charities they wish us to support, and we’ve been fundraising for Children’s Hospice for almost two years. We’ve enjoyed doing so by running, walking, being on our bikes, donating IT kit and even selling eggs, and to celebrate our partnership we wanted to make one final meaningful donation to support their valuable work.
"Amanda kindly attended our evening shareholder meeting in March 2024 so what better opportunity to surprise her! This was a cheque I was very happy to raise and present"
