Businesses backing Rainbow Run means more support for children

24 May 2021 chsw Events, Fundraising

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is delighted to announce it has the support from two local businesses for its upcoming Rainbow Run Your Way event in June.

Sponsorship of the event by Ann’s Cottage; surf and lifestyle fashion retailer, and The Exeter; healthcare insurance company, means that even more of the money raised by those taking part in the Rainbow Run can go straight to the care and support offered to the children and families that use CHSW’s three children’s hospices.

The Rainbow Run is well known to charity fun run enthusiasts across the south west for giving runners a colourful experience as they get covered in powder paint while completing a sponsored 5km. Instead of being held at its usual locations, last year the event went virtual and still raised £100,000 for the charity. This year participants will be encouraged to once again take on the Rainbow Run in their own way.

Rob Harris, Owner and Managing Director of Ann’s Cottage said "Over the years we have been witness to the incredible care and support Children’s Hospice South West provide, and know just how vital funds from the Rainbow Run are to their continued efforts.

After the year we’ve all experienced, supporting amazing causes such as the Rainbow Run feel even more poignant. We can’t wait to see how you choose to complete your virtual Rainbow Run.”

Speaking about The Exeter’s support of the Rainbow Run, CEO Isobel Langton said; “As a healthcare and protection insurer, we support our members when they need us most.

So it is incredibly fitting for us to support CHSW, a local charity helping to raise a smile for children and families who are facing the most unimaginable of challenges.

We’re incredibly proud to be the continuing our support for CHSW as joint headline sponsor of Rainbow Run for the third year running.”

Rainbow Run is being held over the weekend of 19 – 20 June and anyone wishing to get involved just needs to pick a route of any distance and complete it however they wish; by walking, running, skipping, skating, swimming or riding, and wearing bright colours is a must.

The aim is to collectively raise £30,000 for each of the charity’s three children’s hospices; Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm in Somerset and Little Harbour in St Austell, a poignant target to reach for the charity’s 30th anniversary year.

It is free to take part in this event but CHSW encourages everyone to register here to ensure they have access to event information and free resources. If participants raise £15 or more in sponsorship they will be sent a 30th anniversary commemorative medal after the event.
