Acorn Blue's Butties Raise Almost £500 for CHSW
£481 has been raised by Acorn Property Group’s Cornwall region, Acorn Blue, from making and selling bacon rolls to construction staff on their sites.
The money has been raised for local children’s charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) which runs three children’s hospices including Little Harbour in St Austell. It is the second year that Acorn Blue has supported the charity in this way.
Wayne Rundle, Project Coordinator from Acorn Blue said;
It is great to continue our support of this local charity, knowing that the children are receiving the best possible care in these difficult times.
Acorn Blue is creating bespoke new homes at their age exclusive development for over 55s, The Courtyard at Duporth, just 1 mile from Little Harbour children’s hospice where some of the funds raised will be used to support the charity.
Amanda Masters, Fundraiser for CHSW collected the donation on behalf of the charity and said “This is such a great fundraising idea and bacon rolls are clearly popular with the Acorn Blue team. We are really grateful for their support in what has been a very challenging year.”
CHSW has had to adapt its care this year for the 130 children and families it supports from across Cornwall and Plymouth. The charity is now working with a model of care that incorporates hospice, home and virtual care; recognising that even though the hospice is limited with the number of routine respite stays it can provide the team can still support families through visits to their home and virtually. This has been greatly appreciated by the children and families who have enjoyed seeing a familiar face during such an uncertain year.
