6-year old Romani raises over £500!
A six-year old girl from Weston has raised over £500 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Romani Holland, who goes to Haywood Village Academy school in Weston, said she was inspired to raise money for the hospice “because I don’t like that the children are poorly, and I want to help them feel better.” She raised the funds by being sponsored to have her long hair cut, and in the process, benefitted two charities, CHSW’s Charlton Farm and The Princess Trust.
CHSW Community Fundraiser, Kylie Gallagher, said “It was a pleasure to meet Romani and her mum and be presented with a cheque for £533 during one of the hospice’s monthly Open Days. They were given a tour of Charlton Farm and were able to see for themselves all the wonderful facilities we have here, including a spa pool, soft play, art room and sensory room. As well as sampling the delicious cakes, Romani particularly enjoyed delving into the dressing up box where she selected a pretty bridesmaid dress to wear for the rest of the tour.”
Anyone is able to come and visit the children’s hospice during its monthly Open Days. Kylie said, “We understand that some people may be nervous about visiting and unsure of what to expect. However, our experienced tour guides, made up of staff and volunteers, are sure to make you welcome and we know that once you see inside these incredible havens, the reservations soon disappear.”
