This 6 day trip is action packed – a testing challenge, magnificent scenery, camping under the stars, camaraderie, full support, a visit to Petra – the ‘8th wonder of the ancient world, and capped with some relaxation in the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea. Take on a 50 km Ultra, a historic 25 km, or a sharp 10 km challenge – and make it an active Easter! From our Windsor Racecourse basecamp 2000 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Park with fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path, and takes in some wonderful surrounding countryside. You’ll get full support all the way, and a celebration finish back at basecamp. It’s a great way to kick off the Ultra Challenge® season, and start to get in shape for summer.

Great challenges need great settings, and up to 2,000 adventurers will take on the Isle of Wight stunning coastal path – all out to push themselves further. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up to historic Cowes. For Full Island challengers it’s on to historic Ventnor, and back to our welcome basecamp in Chale after an epic 106km journey. You’ll get full support and hospitality all the way, and with 3/4, 1/2, & 1/4 Island Challenges + the NEW & scenic ‘Southern 50 Loop ‘ & 10 mile ‘Cowes Medina Estuary’ options also available – there’s an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone!

Spectacular World Heritage coastline. A start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs to Weymouth half way. For full 100 km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay (of TV’s Broadchurch) – before a finish line celebration in the vibrant town of Bridport. Great 3/4, Half, a NEW Weymouth Marathon and 1/4 Challenge options also – PLUS the Bridport 10K. It’s the event of the year!

The ‘original Ultra Challenge’ – and once again over 2,000 adventurers will take on the Capital to Coast route and test their grit and determination over the weekend. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with wonderful Surrey and Sussex countryside to half way at Turners Hill. The full 100 km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view. You’ll get full support and hospitality all the way – and with three quarter, half, marathon and quarter distance options also available – there’s a classic challenge here for everyone!

Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Challenge basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km loop taking in a couple of tough hills, the Garburn Pass, historic Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests & nature reserves – with some stunning views en-route, before a huge welcome & celebration back at basecamp after a momentous journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality, optional camping / hostel – and with half, marathon, quarter and 10K distance options also, there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone!

Our Cirencester basecamp is the start of the 100 km looped route through the heart of the Cotswolds, providing a stunning setting for 2,000 adventurers to test themselves. Rolling hills, villages, the Cotswold Way, footpaths and trails, with some fabulous views en route. You’ll get full support and hospitality, including optional ‘university style’ accommodation at basecamp, and with three quarter, half, quarter + a Cirencester 10 km distance option also – there’s a Cotswold’s Challenge for everyone.

We’re back on the North Downs with a fabulous challenge setting out from our Guildford basecamp, and a looped 50 km route which takes in some of the best of the Surrey hills, the North Downs Way, and the surrounding countryside. A route with real variety and some wonderful scenery & fabulous views out to the south – and easily accessible from London! You’ll get full support and hospitality, and with 25 km and 10 km options also available, and optional University style accommodation at basecamp – there’s a North Downs Ultra Challenge for you in 2025!

A new Ultra Challenge for 2025, set in the stunning Gower Peninsula – the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and famous for its golden beaches, limestone cliffs, wild moors, ridges, and woodlands. Our basecamp is in the grounds of the historic Penrice Castle, with weekend camping options and the 100km challenge is a figure of 8 route made up of west & east loops which take in the best of the Peninsula, its history, and its varied, unique landscape. With 75km, 50km, Marathon, 25km, and 10K challenge options, as well as a bar & entertainment at basecamp – this event will be the highlight of the season!

A fantastic ‘South West’ summer challenge – taking in the first Minehead section of the famous 630 mile Coastal Path, and with an extensive ‘basecamp’ in the shadows of the impressive Dunster Castle. The 50 km loop then heads over Exmoor with ups & downs and some magnificent views with over 1600 metres of climb. You’ll get full support all the way, and with 25 km options also, plus a family friendly 10K event – along with weekend camping packages & festival style hospitality at basecamp – there’s a South West Coast Ultra Challenge for everyone

Get your walking shoes on and explore some of the Capital’s less known historic areas with a tour of the ‘gateway to London’ along the Thames’s eastern section. Starting alongside the grandeur of Woolwich Royal Artillery Barracks (short walk from Elizabeth Line, DLR, and Overground) – we have a NEW 50km looped route, with an Ultra March™ option for 2025 which heads into the heart of the Capital – alongside the existing 25km option taking in Greenwich – and a NEW 10km option if you’re after something a bit shorter! Routes steeped in history with iconic sights, a lively warm up, full support all the way, and capped with a BBQ meal, bar & music at the finish – making for a wonderful end of summer celebration!

The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for 2000 adventurers to take on a real challenge. An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way, with stunning views over the sea, to a Brighton half-way. Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups & downs lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing 100 km journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way – and with half & quarter distance options available – there’s a South Coast Ultra Challenge for everyone!

England’s greatest river provides a fantastic backdrop for an unforgettable challenge. Over 3000 adventurers will join the Putney Bridge start, and the full 100km route heads upstream to Henley along the famous Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with some wonderful scenery to a riverside finish line. With three quarter, half, quarter distance options also available – plus the separate 25km ‘Thames Bridges Trek’ and ‘The Moonlight 10 Walk’ through Central London as part of the weekend ‘festival’ – there’s a Thames Challenge for everyone

The Moonlight 10 Walk kicks off the famous Thames Path Challenge weekend festival of riverside events! Take on either a spirited 10 km or an energetic 10 mile looped route walk through the heart of London as darkness falls and the Moon rises. Experience London in a different light, passing famous landmarks – including St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and more. A basecamp near Maidstone, with parking & weekend camping options, the main 50km looped route heads anticlockwise around the Kent Downs – starting on the North Downs Way to Blue Bell Hill, around picturesque Aylesford, and following the River Medway to Mote Park at halfway for a picnic. Along the Len Valley Walk to the majestic Leeds Castle, then the North Downs Way back to the showground finish line and celebration. It’s easily accessible; you’ll get full support; and with 25km and 10km options also available, there’s a Kent Downs Ultra Challenge® waiting for you!

Why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts? Choose your distance, gather your bravest guys and ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress, and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start & finish will meet, greet & shock. Once you escape there’s ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food & drink!

There are different ways you can take part in one of the Ultra challenge series
If you would like to join an Ultra Challenge and support CHSW– we have three options available, depending on how much you plan to fundraise and how you sign up.
Option 1
Full sponsorship
Pay a low registration fee and do lots of fundraising for your CHSW. The charity covers your event place cost. There will be a minimum sponsorship target to reach dependant on the cost of your trip in order to take part in the event. This needs to be received by CHSW 8 weeks before the event.
Option 2
Mixed funding
You pay half the event place cost, and CHSW pays the other half, meaning you have a lower fundraising target.
There will be a minimum sponsorship target to reach dependant on the cost of your trip in order to take part in the event. This needs to be received by CHSW 8 weeks before the event.
Option 3
Self funding
You pay the full event place cost and fundraise with NO targets or cost for your charity.

The Ultra Challenge experience
Endurance events for a wide range of fitness and ages. Choose your Challenge – do it at your pace, and there’re 18 events in the series. Support from our fundraising team and from Ultra Challenges enables you to go further, whilst enjoying the great outdoors & camaraderie. There are marquee rest stops, lots of food & drink, medical & massage teams, with a fully signed route to guide you. A big finish-line celebration awaits with an amazing sense of achievement, and once the aches subside you’ll feel energised, and up for more of life’s real challenges!
Before your challenge
Good preparation and smart planning are key and from the moment you sign up you’ll have access to the Ultra Challenge App – with training guides, optional training walks, maps, online forums, and the latest news and updates.
Covered rest stops
Rest stops every ~12.5 km with ‘major’ ones every ~25 km, and are much more than the shaky gazebo with water that you see on some events. We’ve marquee cover, large medical and welfare tents, catering services, seating areas for recovery, changing rooms, and a friendly welcome!
Signed route and tracking
There are pink arrows to guide you, distance markers, glow-sticks at night, hazard signs, and a route map in the App. Ultra Challenge's ‘Trek Masters’ organise group departures at night so nobody has to walk solo. The chip timing system enables the Control Room, and your friends / family, to track your progress through the rest Sstops.
Free food and drink
Keeping you well fed and hydrated is key. Ultra Challenges pride themselves on the quantity and quality of their catering, and whichever distance you are on – meals, snacks and drinks are included – so no need to carry much!

Medics, podiatrists and massage
Ultra Challenges have experienced doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists, and massage teams at rest stops. There are ‘Self help’ areas with blister plasters, talc, Vaseline, and tape if you want to patch your own feet. Their mobile emergency medical teams are only a phone call away, via our 24 hour Control Room
Medal, t-shirt and glass of fizz
We don’t want you to forget that finish-line moment – Ultra Challenge's Cheer Squad will ensure you won’t! You’ll get a medal, finisher’s T-shirt, and a glass of fizz, before heading to a BBQ and a well earned rest. Download your official Challenge certificate when you’re ready.
Shuttle buses and transfers
There are shuttles to local train stations for onward travel, and most finish lines have parking so supporters can meet you. There are bus transfers to / back to key venues (e.g the start) – and check out the bookable extras for details of all transport options.
