Truro Golfers donate to two children’s charities
Organisers of an event held at Truro Golf Club in July have recently been able to donate to two charities supporting children and young people.
Truro Golf Club’s Seniors Open was held on 22 July and saw 168 players from across the county, and further afield, take part. Following the event £450 was donated to both Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and Young Lives vs Cancer, both charities that support children, young people and their families as they face challenging medical diagnoses.
Receiving the donations on behalf of their respective charities were Amanda Masters (CHSW) and Anna Regan (Young Lives vs Cancer).
Seniors Captain Chris Yexley told both representatives that the Seniors section had long been admirers and supporters of charities which help young people, and that he hoped the donations would make a difference and help with the marvellous work undertaken by both organisations.
He also wished to publicly thank all Seniors Open participants for their support, and hopes everyone has an enjoyable and successful remainder of the golfing year.
Amanda Masters, Area Fundraiser for CHSW said; “I was grateful for the opportunity to visit the golf club and hear about their event and also share some information about how their donation will help the children, young people and their families that we support at our Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell. Thank you to everyone from Truro Golf Club for their generosity.”
