Newquay Cubs Cream Tea raises £200
The 5th Newquay Cub Scouts have plated up a £200 donation for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) following their Jubilee Cream Tea event.
The group held their cream tea fundraiser over the Jubilee weekend at Pine Lodge Hotel in Newquay. Refreshments were donated by Paulines Café and cream teas were served to friends and family all in support of CHSW and its local children’s hospice in St Austell; Little Harbour.
A raffle was also held on the day with prizes generously donated by Cornish Tea, St Austell Brewery, Callestic Farm, Tarquins and Pine Lodge.
Alice Merrett, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, visited the group to collect the donation and said;
I would like to thank each and every one of you, and your friends and families, for contributing to your special Jubilee Cream Tea. It is wonderful that you did such a fantastic job and have raised a brilliant total which will help local children, like you, and their families who need some support from our children’s hospice; Little Harbour.
For anyone inspired by the fundraising of the Newquay Cub Scouts, CHSW have resources and support available if you are interested in running your own cream tea event as part of its Big South West Cream Tea campaign. Whether it’s with family in your garden, at your workplace, school or a big community event Alice would be delighted to support you to make it a success.
