Golfing success for Carlyon Bay Juniors
Carlyon Bay Junior Golf Academy held a fundraising event in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The club held a charity Junior Open event on Sunday 21 July, and raised £1,031.12 for the charity. 78 young golfers took part, making it one of the largest Junior Open events in the South West. The golfers competed to win a fantastic prize fund thanks to the clubs generous sponsors, all while raising vital funds for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
All entry fees were donated to CHSW, and Carlyon Golf Club provided the course free of charge, as well as providing refreshments and meals for all competitors. CHSW has three hospices across the South West, including Little Bridge House in Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in St Austell.
It was a beautiful sunny day down at the course, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. Bethany Rudge, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said:
It was brilliant to hear all about the success of the junior open day. It is so refreshing to see young people supporting a local charity through doing something they love.
The club also hopes to boost their donation when they hold their Captains Invitation Open event in October this year.
