Running in memory of Eileen

05 January 2022 chsw Events, Fundraising

Lauren Chisholm from Redland in Bristol has signed up to take part in the Bath Half Marathon and the Paris Marathon in 2022 in memory of her grandmother who was a keen supporter of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Lauren is asking for donations in support of CHSW as her grandmother Eileen Chisholm, who sadly died in 2021, was a passionate supporter of the local charity.

Lauren said: “They say it's not the number of years in your life, but the life in your years. For Gran, it was definitely both!  She dedicated her life to supporting those in need, fundraising and volunteering her time to help charities like Mencap, the Royal British Legion, and her absolute favourite - Children's Hospice South West.”

CHSW’s local hospice, Charlton Farm near Bristol, provides respite, palliative, end of life and bereavement support to more than 220 families from across the region. In the wake of the pandemic, the charity has adapted its care model to ensure Covid-compliant support wherever and whenever families need it – at Charlton Farm and in families’ own homes.

Clemi Williams, Area Fundraiser at CHSW, said: “Eileen was a passionate supporter of our cause, and we are extremely touched that Lauren has decided to raise funds and awareness for CHSW in her memory. We wish Lauren the very best of luck taking part in the half marathon in March, followed by Paris in April.”
